It's one thing to go get a third party mod that makes Oblivion look and play better. It's not something extra that you have to "go get" later on. :)Įxcept that config files are part of the product. A lot of kids who play games on the PC only know how to start Steam and click on the game they want to play, and it works (magically). I would say playing PC games has become a lot easier over the years in general. There have always been extra things to download for the PC for a lot of games (almost none to improve the visuals though) and there was no automatic Steam patching, you had to do everything manually 6-7 years ago as you know. :) I personally don't really care, I'm used to working with configs and I sometimes download seperate mods and addons. Oh well, the things you do to improve your gaming experience.
